It's August already??

Where does time go? I just can't keep up - I've just decided I'm going to have to post a month at a time because I just can't keep up with weekly posts!! Although, once a week wouldn't take near as long as a whole month at once! :)

We took Miranda to her dr. apt. on August 3 and she was 12lb 14oz and 25 in long! She is just growing too fast!!

Since it's been so long, I don't remember much of what we did that week, but we did go home to the Farm one day. It was Gary's parents anniversary so we went and spent part of the day with them.

I think I'll just post some pictures
Miranda loves to be carried around in her sling
Miranda posing for pictures

Can you tell she's teething??

What is Malaya holding?
Still not quite sure...
It's a worm!! This night Malaya was outside playing with Gary and they dug through the dirt and found worms. She carried them around for the longest time. When it was time to come in, she wanted to bring her worms. Gary finally talked her into burying them in the garden and they would help our tomatoes grow. She finally agreed to it...

4 Months Old

Can Miranda really be 4 months already??? Yep!! Seems like she arrived yesterday. She has her 4 month shots on Monday so we'll see how much she's grown tomorrow. Hopefully we'll be able to start cereal now too! She is drooling like crazy and sucking on her fingers and we can see 2 white spots that are going up and down.... Her new favorite thing is blowing bubbles and making nosies with her lips. She smiles all the time and loves to make faces at you. She's also very ticklish and even laughs now. Here are her pictures I took yesterday.

Taylor Swift & Swimming Park

Taylor Swift, Kellie Pickler, and Gloriana were coming to the Civic Center on July 24. The day before I decided I would really like to go to the concert so I checked all the classifieds for tickets and I was not willing to pay the price they wanted. I continued to look the day of the concert too. My mom called me and said my dad said to call the box office because usually tickets are released right before the concert. So, a little before 5 I called and they had just released 100 tickets. I got 2 tickets in row 17, which was actually only 6 rows from the stage and we were on the end. We had perfect seats. I was mad though because I couldn't bring my camera in because it was so big and I could have gotten excellent pictures. I had asked the lady sitting in front of me if she'd send me her pictures and she said she would. They were from AZ on vacation and heard Taylor was in town so they came to the civic center right before the show and was able to get tickets too. She had 2 teenage daughters so they were thrilled. Her daughters actually had wristbands to go in the pit and they also got a couple guitar picks too. At the end, her youngest daughter even got on stage with Taylor and got a hug from her. I haven't received any pictures from the lady so if I even do, I'll add them to this post.

My parents kept the girls over night and Saturday afternoon Gary & I went to Spearfish and we took the girls to the new swimming park there. Malaya wasn't too sure at first, but ended up having a good time.

I'm also attaching various pictures I've taken too.
I love this picture of Miranda smiling at her Papa
Malaya had so much fun jumping off the edge into Daddy's arms

Our Eventful Lives

We started the new daycare on July 13th. The first day didn't go so bad. Malaya didn't cry too much when I dropped off, but cried when I picked her up. I thought - she must be really happy to see mommy!! Then Tuesday she did not want to go to Debbie's. Around 3:15 at work, I got a phone call from Debbie that Malaya was throwing up so I headed right over to pick her up. She had thrown up 4 times there so we headed home. Once at home, she never threw up again, but you could tell she did not feel good. She kept saying that her tummy hurt. I stayed home with her on Wednesday and we went back Thursday. We were supposed to head home Thursday night for the funeral Friday, but after I picked her up, you could tell she did not feel good, so we stayed here. Friday was the funeral and then Saturday we headed to Spearfish to go to the festival in the park. Sunday morning around 1:30am Gary & I both woke up with the flu. I had it worse than him and Miranda slept through it for the most part. When she woke up at 4:30, we knew there was no way we could take care of the girls, so I called my parents to see if they could come get them. They said they'd come right away. So, by Sunday evening we were feeling better and my parents were just going to keep the girls while we went to work Monday. We got a phone call at 2am Monday morning and mom said both her and dad had the flu, so we headed to Spearfish to get the girls. We got home around 5am and there was no way we were going to work, plus we didn't feel the greatest anyway. My parents had it worse than we did so I felt really bad. In the end, us, Malaya, my parents, Gary's dad and brother and his brother's girlfriend all got the flu!

Needless to say, daycare wasn't going the greatest - the first week she was only there 3 days - then the next week 4 days and finally this week, we made it 5 days. It has gotten better and everytime I call, Debbie says the girls are fine. Debbie says Malaya is very well behaved and that Miranda is such a happy baby!! So, that makes me feel good. Malaya gives Debbie hugs and says bye when we leave, so I know she's fine and that she's just playing me when she cries everytime. I think Malaya is a lot like me with not dealing well with change, so it just takes awhile.

I'm attaching some various pictures taken while my parents had the girls or when we were at Gary's parents house.

Grandma Kay Naescher

It had been a rough couple weeks before Grandma Naescher passed away. On the night of July 5th, she was taken from the Philip Hospital to the Rapid City Hospital. She had fluid on her lungs and on her brain. They tried various medications that week and then they tried to put a feeding tube down her throat and her MS had caused a hernia in her esophagaus. The Dr. said the only way to keep her alive was to insert a feeding tube. Her living will had said no feeding tubes, so there were no options. Her children had decided to move her to Hospice on July 11 and she passed away on the 14th. Her funeral was on July 17th. She was 81 years old.
