Grandma Twila & Papa John came on Friday for the weekend. Twila, the girls, & I went to a craft fair on Saturday. We had so much fun. We baked sugar cookies & frosted them that evening. On Sunday, the girls headed back to Rapid with Grandma & Papa. They were so excited to go to Grandma's house. Last night Twila sent me some pictures of them playing dress up so I think they are having fun.
Gary & I are headed to Rapid tonight. We have a full day tomorrow planned. I am meeting up with 2 old co-workers for breakfast & lunch and then we have family pictures and a few other errands to run. Then we will spend our Thanksgiving at the Farm with Chris, Lucy & Bart. We will go to my parents Friday and then head home Sunday. We are looking forward to a mini vacation!!
Today it has also been 4 years since my Grandma Elsie passed away on Thanksgiving. Some days it seems like it was yesterday and other times it seems like it has been 10 years. Either way I didn't think I would be able to move on & live without her, but somehow God gives you the strength to move on. I miss her all the time, but am thankful for the time I did have with her.
Broken Chain
Little did we know that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you , you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
