Grandma Twila & Grandma Ardie Visit

We had so much fun while Twila & Ardie were here. They got here Friday night and we cooked supper and then we had gift opening. Twila had brought the girls halloween gifts and then I got a birthday gift from her too. Since we didn't come home the first week in October, Twila & I didn't get to do my birthday shopping, but I had mentioned to her I wanted a pea coat, but forgot I had even told her. But, she didn't....she got me a pea coat with 2 scarves!!  I loved it. I told her I couldn't have picked out a better one myself...it's exactly what I wanted. Then Ardie me got one of those pumps where you put olive oil in and it turns it into a spray. I loved that too. Then Twila had brought me down a birthday cake and my mom sent her a chocolate hostess cupcake cake for me too. So, we had 2 birthday cakes to eat :)

Then Saturday we got up and went to the park and took a walk around Madrid. We took a 3 hour nap and then went into Grant to the park and took a tour of Grant. That evening we played games. Yesterday we got up and went to church and then the Catholic church was putting on a roast beef / ham lunch. I guess it was their annual fundraiser. The meal was SOOOO good!!  Then we went and showed them our new house and then got to see the horses in town.  We ended the night carving pumpkins.  They left this morning.

We had so much fun with them & enjoyed their visit.

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

On October 10th, I got to chaperone a field trip for Malaya's preschool. We went to a pumpkin patch in Champion, NE about 45 min from Grant. There were 10 adults and 32 children. We each had 3 kids (me 4 with Miranda) to watch. We got to walk around the pumpkins & the pond. Then we took a hayride to the corn maze. It is WAY harder than you think to watch kids and not let them get lost in the maze!! I actually lost Miranda for a minute - she got too far ahead of me!!  We also ate our picnic lunch and then the kids got to play on the swing set for awhile. Everyone had a great time, but I do think the highlight was the BUS ride!!! 

Well, I turned 31 on the 11th!!!  It seems like yesterday I was dreading my 30th birthday and now somehow my 31st showed up. Gary & the girls baked me a jello cake and we opened gifts that night. I got this wonderful sipping white chocolate that's wonderful and also a plaque on family rules.

One of the families we've really gotten to know at church and really enjoy lost their hired man right before corn picking was to start. Gary offered to help in anyway they needed it. Well, this past Saturday Ron & Diane said they would sure take his help. He worked from 8-8 that day. The girls & I got to go out as well and ride around in the combine & the tractor. We were there for 5 hours! The girls LOVED it and cried all the way home when I said it was time to leave. It was a great family day!!!

Grandma Audrey & Papa Clark Visit!!!

Grandma & Papa got here last Saturday around 3pm. The girls were so excited all day for them to get here. We went to church & the park on Sunday. Then on Monday the girls & I got haircuts and then we went to The General Store next door. That evening we went to Paxton to a restaurant for dinner. On Tuesday we went to North Platte to get groceries and also to The Golden Spike Tower, which is the world's largest rail yard. On Wednesday we hung around the house and looked through a few stores in Grant. They went home on Thursday morning.  We had lots of fun while they were here and it was so nice to have some company. 

I am FINALLY getting better....in the end I ended up having 5 asthma attacks before I was able to take a deep cough. I have been sick almost 4 weeks now and am still coughing up a ton of stuff. I am thankful to be feeling better, but I can't wait to be done coughing!!

We went to our first Husker football party last night. This is Malaya & Emily. Emily goes to Malaya's preschool & is one of her friends. They live a block from us. Her parents invitied us to their party. The cheerleading uniform is Emily's. Malaya loved wearing it. Guess we are going to have to become Husker Fans!!!
