1st Day of 1st Grade
August 14 was Malaya's 1st day of 1st Grade. She knew exactly where her classroom was, which was good because I didn't. I think she had a fun day. I can't image how much she will learn and change in these 9 months. Miranda will start preschool on the 21st.
Tubing
Friday the girls and I went to the Imperial pool with some friends. Then we went to their house for supper. It was the family who let us borrow their loader for the cement so we brought some steaks for supper. Then his wife and I put up 89 cups of corn.
Saturday night we went to another friend's house for a BBQ. It was fun. I got to shoot my gun there. I hadn't tried it out since Gary put the red dot on it and I love it!
Sunday we went to church down in Imperial and then went out to Pizza Hut for supper. Malaya really wanted to go tubing so when we got back we headed up to Sutherland. Storm clouds were rolling in so we couldn't stay out very long, but had lots of fun. Paige got to go with us and we all rode the tube. We even got Miranda out on it. Then Malaya wanted to ride it by herself and she did great!!
Fair Weekend
I met my parents in Alliance on Friday, July 26. The girls went home with them over the weekend. It was Fair weekend in Grant so we went to the Tough Trucks Friday night. We went boating on Saturday and then to the derby and dance Saturday night. Sunday night we went to a BBQ. Then Mom and Nadine brought the girls back that Monday.
Gary started working on loading up the cement on Monday and that took him until Wednesday. He worked hard and the lot looks so much better.
That weekend Gary was on call so the girls and I went to Lincoln with some friends. There was a group of 14 - 4 adults and 10 kids ranging in age from 2 to 16. It was so much fun. We went to the water park in Grand Island Friday and then onto Lincoln. We got to eat at some new restaurants and did some school shopping.
July 4th Weekend
On the 4th we went to the Grant Park and they had lots of festivities there. Then on Friday we went to see Despicable Me 2 in North Platte. We had lots of fun and it was a great movie. Then Saturday we went up to the lake and went tubing. It was our first time tubing and the girls loved it!!!
