Another Week Down

The week started off pretty uneventful....til Wednesday. I was leaving work and had just got Miranda into her carseat when I guy approached me and said, Excuse me, can you tell me where 5th street is. I told him and then he said someone else told me this way. I said no - it's this way and pointed. Malaya at this point opens her door and gets out and she's on the driver side and I'm on the passenger side. I told her to get back in the car and shut the door and thank God she listened!!! The man then proceeds to put his hands over his face and cries and says he is all alone and doesn't know anyone. I am looking around and there is no one close to me - the closest people are across the street at the YMCA. So, I then know I need to get out of this situation. So, I walk around the car towards the drivers side of the car and told the man I'm sorry. He then says if I give you money will you give me a ride. I said no - get in the car, shut the door and lock it. At that very same instant, this man tries to get in my passenger side door. My heart was pounding by this time and thank the Lord I hit the lock button. He then holds his hands up as if to say, Sorry to bother you. I then find out the next day that he had approached one of my co-workers a few minutes before me and then my old boss works 2 blocks from me and about 10 min after me he approached her. So, thankfully everyone was fine. We did call the cops to report him and hopefully we don't see him again!!!!

Gary is home this weekend so we are loving that - only 4 weeks to go!!!

I don't have many pictures from this week. So, I'll just post a few I took today.

Miranda is 2!!!

Miranda's 2nd birthday was April 1st. Her classroom as school was having a safari day so she had to wear cameoflauge, which of course wasn't a problem. Malaya helped me make dirt cups for her to bring for a snack. Miranda got a teddy bear & balloon from G&G Naescher and then more balloons from Aunt Sheila & Uncle Mike. Then that evening my parents came and took us to supper at Pizza Ranch. The crew there came out to sing to her and she wasn't liking it. I had to end up wearing their silly hat. Then we came to the house and mom and dad got her a bubble gun so that will be super fun for the girls this summer.

This weekend we headed to Wall for Lucy's bridal shower. We got up and were on the road by 8am. We first stopped and saw Dick & Pam. They got Miranda a swimsuit, sunglasses, and princess crown. Then we had lunch with Grandpa Paul and got to also visit Great-Aunt Dobbie. Then we headed to the farm for the bridal shower.

The girls were such big helpers and were very good during the shower. Lucy got lots of nice things as well.

Today we got up and went into church and got to sit with Elaine, Regan, and Athena. After church, we went to the Drug Store and had donuts with Donna.

It was a great weekend seeing all our friends & family, as well as celebrating Miranda's 2nd birthday!!

Miranda's 2nd Birthday Party

We had Miranda's birthday party on Saturday. I had asked her one day whether she wanted a Dora or Shrek party and she said Shrek. She had a really good time. She loved her Shrek cake. We had all of our family and then our Brandy, Nick, Logan & Alyssa from Gillette. She got some legos, a slip & slide, a Dora book, Shrek 3 (now we have all of them), a motorized 4 wheeler, a princess tent, a Dora doll (from Malaya) and some puppy shoes.

Spring Break

Gary was home on Spring Break for 10 days and it was soooo nice!!! We sent the girls to the Y on Monday, but they stayed home with him the rest of the week. On Wed. Gary took them to the Farm to see the baby calves. They had so much fun. Then Thrusday Gary & I got to spend the night in Deadwood and my parents kept the girls. Sheila & Mike closed on their new house on Friday so on Saturday we went to Spearfish to help them move, clean house & do odds & ends. I think they will really like their house.

We also went to Lucy's bridal shower. Malaya had lots of fun helping her open gifts. Then I got a girls night out that night with my friend. We went to Olive Garden and ate and then watched Burlesque - which is my new favorite movie!

Malaya had her appointment with her ENT on Friday and he said her tonsils are a good 3 on a scale of 1 to 4. He said that we could sure wait and see if she gets strept again, otherwise she is a candidate for having her tonsils out. He said her sleepwalking is also related to her large tonsils as well as her being a picky eater. He said that the younger kids have tonsils out the better and the odds are that we will be in this same boat next year because he thinks she is a carrier for strept. Gary & I talked it over and finally decided that we should just go ahead and get them out. Her ENT said that he thinks she will sleep much better and deeper when they are out. Her surgery is scheduled for April 22. That day is Good Friday and Gary's off so he will be able to be here.
I've also started taking the girls to a place in town called Alternative Healthcare. Dr. Kuyper there has been doing the N.A.E.T allergy testing on them. He does this scan and then that tells him out of the basic 15 what the girls are allergic to. I have been very impressed and have seen improvements in the girls.

Well, Gary comes home tomorrow. He has Friday off and we will be having Miranda's birthday party on Saturday. Here are some pictures.
