We Made it!

Well, we made it through the past 2 weeks. Malaya is all better and Miranda still has a cough, but hopefully that goes away.

Last weekend Gary made it home so we were thankful of that. I got some girls time and got to go to the Rascal Flatts Concert. Chris Young and Luke Bryan were also with it! I can't tell you how much fun it was. My co-worker got us 4th row seats! Boy, the seats sure do make a difference in the concert.

This past weekend we headed to Spearfish. We had so much fun. We went bowling and played ping pong. Went to church, out to lunch. Oh and my parents got this really fun game - Rubix Revolution. It's a blast!

Well, we're on the count down until Gary can come home this weekend. It's the Stock Show so we'll take the girls to see the animals - Malaya is super excited!!

I'm Exhausted

What a week it has been. Last Tuesday night I was giving the girls a bath and noticed this dark red spot on Miranda's behind. She would pull from me when I tried to touch it so I figured it out. I called the Dr. and they said to come in. He said it was a boil and he was going to pop it and that they needed to put it under a microscope and see what type of infection it is. He said if it would fester back up to call and they'd want to see her again. Well, Thursday morning it had festered back up so I took her back in. I find out that what she has is MRSA (aka community viurs). From what I've learned is it's very difficult to get rid of and is highly contagious. Worst case scenario - it's life threatening. If you catch it early and stay on top of it everything should be fine. I was pretty upset at first and my parents were in town so they came over to my house. Mom ended up staying and dad ran back to Spearfish to get mom some clothes. The girls were supposed to go to Spearfish for the weekend because I had to work, but we decided mom would just stay here with the girls. I didn't end up having to work Saturday or Sunday and we decided to have mom stay until Tuesday and dad could pick her up on his way back from Wall.

Saturday Malaya woke up saying her throat and neck hurt. I took her to the doctor and she had strept throat!!! So, she got put on a antibiotic. Monday I took Miranda back in and they took a swab of her throat and cultured it, and I should get the results tomorrow. Since she was on an antibiotic they had to culture it as opposed to the regular test. He looked at her MRSA and said it looked 1000 times better than last Thursday. So...thank God for that! He said he has had to hospitalize 2 other patients this past week for MRSA so thank God Miranda's body reacted well to the antibiotic.

I told Gary he picked a good weekend to not come home!! We're trying every other weekend to save some money!! It's been hard though. Although, having mom here has helped!!

Happy New Year

Well, 3.5 months behind - that's not too bad!! Guess you can tell I've been busy with Gary being gone. Well, we made it through the first semester and the best parts - Gary got a 4.0 & we are half way done! It's been very tough not having him around. I give so much credit to single moms and military spouses!

We have a good Christmas this year. We got to spend Christmas Eve at our house with just our family. We went to church that night and came home and opened presents. Then we went to Grandma Williamson's for Christmas Day and onto Grandma & Papa Naescher's that evening for our Christmas with them. Then we went to Grandma & Papa Mortensen's on Dec 29th for Christmas.

We have all been together for 11 days off and have been LOVING it! We've been super busy with all the projects I've been saving for Gary to be here to help, as well as putting together Christmas toys for the girls. We were wishing it wouldn't have been so busy but at least we're getting some family time and that's what counts.

Miranda starts at the YMCA for childcare on Jan 3rd - the same day I go back to work. It's going to be nice having her so close, but I am not excited to go back to work and have Gary leave as well. It's been so nice having everyone together! 16.5 weeks to go!!

Here are some pictures from Dec

School, Art & Swimming Lessons

September seems to be the month of changes for the Naescher household. Gary, Malaya & Miranda started school August 30th. Gary at Mitchell Tech, Malaya at the YMCA, and Miranda at Hahne school next door!! It has been an adjustment not having Gary around. I am soooo tired all the time!! The girls are actually doing really well with it. The first week was pretty hard on Malaya but seems to have the routine figured out. She's actually handling it better than me!!! I cry everytime Gary leaves and she tells me - don't cry Mommy - Daddy will be home on the weekend. I just hope these 9 months go by fast!!!

Gary is getting spoiled at Delbert & Kathy's. I think everyone is enjoying each other's company. We are so thankful it's working out so well.

Malaya is loving it at the Y. I get updates and an art project every day!! She has cried a few times when I've left, but has never fought me 1 time to go. She actually started swimming lessons today and sounds like that went well. It is so neat to hear her singing songs she's learned randomly during the day.
Miranda is doing well at Carey's. Carsyn and Miranda have their moments, but Carey said overall it's going well. She gets to be Carey's helper and gets to go on field trips with them!!

Well, here are some random pictures from the month so far.
We went to the fair the middle of August. Malaya loved this ride!
