Happy New Year

Well, 3.5 months behind - that's not too bad!! Guess you can tell I've been busy with Gary being gone. Well, we made it through the first semester and the best parts - Gary got a 4.0 & we are half way done! It's been very tough not having him around. I give so much credit to single moms and military spouses!

We have a good Christmas this year. We got to spend Christmas Eve at our house with just our family. We went to church that night and came home and opened presents. Then we went to Grandma Williamson's for Christmas Day and onto Grandma & Papa Naescher's that evening for our Christmas with them. Then we went to Grandma & Papa Mortensen's on Dec 29th for Christmas.

We have all been together for 11 days off and have been LOVING it! We've been super busy with all the projects I've been saving for Gary to be here to help, as well as putting together Christmas toys for the girls. We were wishing it wouldn't have been so busy but at least we're getting some family time and that's what counts.

Miranda starts at the YMCA for childcare on Jan 3rd - the same day I go back to work. It's going to be nice having her so close, but I am not excited to go back to work and have Gary leave as well. It's been so nice having everyone together! 16.5 weeks to go!!

Here are some pictures from Dec

School, Art & Swimming Lessons

September seems to be the month of changes for the Naescher household. Gary, Malaya & Miranda started school August 30th. Gary at Mitchell Tech, Malaya at the YMCA, and Miranda at Hahne school next door!! It has been an adjustment not having Gary around. I am soooo tired all the time!! The girls are actually doing really well with it. The first week was pretty hard on Malaya but seems to have the routine figured out. She's actually handling it better than me!!! I cry everytime Gary leaves and she tells me - don't cry Mommy - Daddy will be home on the weekend. I just hope these 9 months go by fast!!!

Gary is getting spoiled at Delbert & Kathy's. I think everyone is enjoying each other's company. We are so thankful it's working out so well.

Malaya is loving it at the Y. I get updates and an art project every day!! She has cried a few times when I've left, but has never fought me 1 time to go. She actually started swimming lessons today and sounds like that went well. It is so neat to hear her singing songs she's learned randomly during the day.
Miranda is doing well at Carey's. Carsyn and Miranda have their moments, but Carey said overall it's going well. She gets to be Carey's helper and gets to go on field trips with them!!

Well, here are some random pictures from the month so far.
We went to the fair the middle of August. Malaya loved this ride!
Papa Clark took Malaya down the alpine slide. She loved it and told Papa to go faster!

August 2010

Well we have some news - Gary is going back to school at Mitchell Tech for Power Lineman. He is getting burnt out of welding and there seems to be no opportunities and we are always worrying about layoffs so he's had an interest in lineman for about 4 years now. We are hoping this will be a better occupation and have more stability and better advancement, pay and opportunities. We had to go to Mitchell Aug 6 to register for classes and we took the girls. We got to stay in a mohotel as Malaya says and it had a swimming pool. We had fun although it was a long trip!! And...the trip home was busy with all the motorcycles. He starts school August 30th and that's just around the corner!!

Then my daycare was on vacation that next week so my next door watched the girls. I think they had lots of fun. And....Malaya finally decided to open up to me and along with that and talking to other moms I decided to not send the girls back to the daycare. My neighbor is going to watch Miranda and Malaya is going to the YMCA. I'm super excited about the YMCA for Malaya. We told her she's going to school and we even went and bought her a new lunchbox and waterbottle. The neighbor boy is starting kindergarten this year so Malaya, JT and Gary will all be starting school August 30th. And the Y is across the street from where I work and Miranda will be right next door so I'm really excited about all of that.
So, for the next 2 weeks, my neighbor, my parents and mother in law are helping out.

Twila took the girls to storybook island yesterday and they got to see the Princess & the Pea at the theater and at the end Malaya got to go onstage and dance with the Princess. We found out that they were actually taping that performance so we are going there tomorrow to get a copy of it. I guess it has 4 different shows they have performed this summer.
